Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use this website or ask Unified Silk Godo Kaisha ("Unified Silk", "we") for one of the consultations listed on it. Once a consultation has been agreed, our Terms and Conditions also govern it.
What Unified Silk is, and is not
- Unified Silk is a Godo Kaisha based in Kanazawa. It reads online-store terms, drafts subscription wording and talks through customer complaints against Japan's consumer contract and e-commerce rules.
- It is not a law firm. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and no attorney-client relationship arises from using the site or from a consultation.
- We do not appear for you before a court, a consumer affairs office or any other authority, and we do not write to or negotiate with your customer or opponent on your behalf. Work that Japanese law reserves to attorneys (Attorney Act, Article 72) is outside what we take on.
- If a matter calls for an attorney (bengoshi), we say so, and that step is yours to take.
Using the website
- Allowed: reading the pages, and using the contact form to ask about a consultation.
- Not allowed: false names or details, automated bulk submissions, attempts to disrupt or probe the site, and using the form to sell us something unrelated.
- Accounts: none are needed; the site has no login.
- Accuracy: the pages give general information and can lag behind a change in the law. Check the statute text itself before relying on a point.
- Business days: Monday to Friday, excluding Japanese public holidays, in Japan Standard Time. Replies promised in business days are counted that way.
- Urgent matters: messages sent through the form are read by people, not scripts, but a form is not a hotline. If something cannot wait, phone us during Japanese business hours.
The consultations
- Three are offered: Online Terms Review, Subscription Terms Drafting and Complaint Handling Consultation. Each offer page gives the usual scope, the timeframe and the fee in yen.
- A consultation begins only when scope, timing and fee have been confirmed to you in writing and you have agreed. Whether consumption tax is included is stated in that written scope.
- If your situation needs more than the usual scope, we tell you before going further. Nothing is added afterwards without your agreement.
- We may decline a request that falls outside these three services, or one we cannot handle properly in the time asked.
Fees and invoices
Fees are in Japanese yen as shown on the Offers page. An invoice states the amount, whether tax is included, how to pay and the due date. A review or drafting job starts once the written scope is accepted; the one-hour complaint session is booked once payment terms are agreed.
Clients and language
Consultations are given in English, mainly for stores that sell to customers in Japan. Clients outside Japan are welcome where the question concerns Japanese rules; we do not comment on the law of other countries.
Reports and drafts
- Reports, summaries and drafted wording describe our reading of the documents and facts you gave us. If those were incomplete or out of date, the reading may be too.
- They are for your own use in running your business. Using wording from a draft does not guarantee how a customer, a consumer affairs office or a court will treat it.
- Ownership of delivered documents passes to you when the fee is paid. We may keep a copy, as the Privacy Policy explains.
This website and its content
- The text and layout of the site belong to Unified Silk unless marked otherwise. You may quote a short passage with a link back; copying whole pages or the structure is not allowed.
- Photographs are illustrative stock images. The people shown are not our staff or clients (see the Advertising Disclosure).
- The site is provided as available and may be taken down for maintenance or edited without notice.
- Links to outside sources are for reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.
If you are unhappy with us
If a reply, a report or the way a consultation was handled falls short, write to info@unifiedsilk.com and say what you expected. We read every complaint ourselves, answer within ten business days, and if we got something wrong in a delivered document we correct it without charge. A complaint does not affect your right to take the matter further under the law.
Changes and contact
We may revise these terms; the version in force when an engagement is agreed governs that engagement. Questions go to info@unifiedsilk.com, +81 76-232-4905, or the Contact page. Last revised: 19 October 2026.
